The Catskills

Just two hours from New York City, Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskills is one of my favorite venues for capturing engagement sessions. The gardens, cozy fire-lit spaces, and surrounding landscape make it easy to capture natural, intimate moments. Foxfire is a versatile location that works well for couples looking for a mix of outdoor and indoor settings with a relaxed, inviting feel. Situated in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, Foxfire Mountain House is the perfect home base for a day spent exploring and taking photograph together at nearby Phoenicia Diner and other Catskills gems.

While engagement sessions are typically reserved for my wedding couples, when Lyrica & Alex reached out about spending the day together in the Catskills, I couldn’t say no. We spent the day exploring the grounds at Foxfire, having a Notebook-inspired moment on their pond in a rowboat, and roadtripped to Phoenicia Diner for pancakes, stopping at scenic roadside spots along the way.
