Kimberlee + Jamie in Love Forever
When Kimberlee + Jamie decided to elope in the Green Mountains of Vermont, they wanted to prioritize an intimate day that to wove in the activities that matter the most to them: camping, art, hiking, sharing meals, and spending time together.
I met up with Kimberlee and Jamie at their campsite at Farm Craft VT, while they were cooking a camp stove breakfast of pancakes and sausage. I spent the morning photographing some of the tender details Kimberlee + Jamie created, like Kimberlee’s hand-embroidered Son de Flor dress, the ring box that Jamie had carved + assembled by hand, along with homemade vow books and kerchiefs. I helped Kimberlee get ready and zhuzh her hair, ahead of giving Kimberlee + Jamie space to do their first look, while I hung back documenting from a distance.
After their first look, we hopped in the car and drove to Stowe, Vermont, stopping for picnic provisions at Edelweiss Mountain Bakery, before driving up the toll road at Mt. Mansfield to ascend to the summit for their intimate ceremony. Since Vermont doesn’t require any witnesses, I was able to officiate for Kimberlee + Jamie’s intimate mountaintop ceremony. After they exchanged rings + vows, we took in the views: the Adirondacks to the west and the White Mountains to the east, before descending down the mountain for some newly married portraits along the way and back at their campsite in time for sunset, stopping along the way for maple creemees, a must when in Vermont!
We ended the day chasing the sunset among the herbs and sunflowers, getting cozy with some local sheep, and refueling over some wood-fired pizza. Having an unhurried, slow, and calm day with these two was such a dream, and I feel like the energy of the day speaks for itself in the photographs and video we made together.
