Foxfire Mountain House Wedding
Sam and Sophia hosted a dreamy springtime wedding at Foxfire Mountain House in Mt. Tremper, NY, bursting with thoughtful details and playful fashion moments. After their initial backyard wedding plan had too many moving parts, they chose to celebrate with friends and family close to home at Foxfire Mountain House, a hotel and restaurant that also hosts weddings in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. Friday night’s rehearsal dinner was intimate, with about 30 guests gathering around long tables covered in tulips grown by the mother of the bride and her friends.
The couple chose an intimate first look at their nearby home in the Catskill Mountains, where the bride and her wedding party got ready. While their first look and portraits were taken indoors due to a rainy wedding day, the weather cleared just in time for their outdoor woodland ceremony. Sam and Sophia embraced the traditions of a wedding lasso and breaking the glass before their first kiss. The cocktail hour took place inside the bar & restaurant at Foxfire Mountain House, and the reception was outdoors in a greenhouse decorated with greenery, disco balls, and shades of chartreuse and burgundy. As per Middlebury College tradition, the dancefloor got wild as soon as Madonna’s Like a Prayer was played by the DJ, and the dance party lingered late into the night.
If you are planning a Catskills wedding and looking to have your weekend photographed on film, I would love to hear what you are dreaming up.
