High school sweethearts Christy & Boo chose M&D Farm as a romantic and European-inspired backdrop for their wedding day. Every detail was infused with love — from florals by the bride’s sister to handwritten love notes adorning the cocktail napkins. My heart still pangs when I think about Christy’s dad walking her down the aisle as sunbeams dappled across the garden, Boo craning his neck to lay eyes on Christy for the first time all day. Their vows contained promises they made together as teenagers and as they continued to grow in love. The refreshing sound often of children laughing and running throughout the cocktail hour or how the flower girls played in the stone fountain, careful not to stain their cotton dresses during dinner. I still think about how there wasn’t a dry eye as Christy’s father and sister gave toasts that evening. The piles of flowers and fruit felt like vignettes from Dutch paintings, and how every guest (including myself) audibly gasped with each reveal. The grace with which Christy & Boo embraced and thanked each of their guests throughout the day, it was a rare evening where it felt like there was time for everyone. An absolute joy and delight to document on film, digital and Super8.
