Let Me Love You Like A Woman
Katie + Meg in Love Forever
A romantic, wild, sexy, and playful wedding between two of the greatest lovers of this lifetime. When Katie + Meg shared their plans of celebrating their love on the edge of their favorite pond and sharing their vows over a dining table (you’ll see just what I mean below!), I knew this wedding would be unlike any other. But to know Katie + Meg and the love they have created, is embrace magic.
Their wedding day commenced in a flurry of love, nerves and excitement, with Katie + Meg getting ready together and swooning over each other’s every last detail, sharing tender hand squeezes and kisses between curling irons and lipstick.
With the butterflies on overdrive, we caravanned to Ooms Conservation for bridesmaids portraits, with Meg’s bridesmaids barefoot in overalls and Katie’s bridesmaids looking right out of a Doên catalog. After hiding beneath the willows and amongst the flowers, the processional down the grassy aisle to Irish folksongs began. Meg waited at the top of the aisle to walk arm-in-arm with her love, Katie up to the alter.
Audre Lorde’s Erotic As Power was read, wood was cut, art was made, a table was set, and vows were read over candlesticks and wine, and Katie + Meg were pronounced wife + wife just before Joy To The World by Three Dog Night was blasted at full volume while the twirled down the aisle. I found them shortly after curled up in the tall grass, in a deer bed of their love, sharing kisses and laughs like two teenagers in love.
A grand exit in their Ford pick-up Pearl decked out in “Just Married” and PBR cans and metal spoons on strings brought them back to their reception at Taconic Ridge Farm. Dinner was shared at a long table set for 120 in a field, candlesticks and wine were abundant, as were both the laughs and tears from their closest family + friend’s speeches.
As the sun set, we took one more run through the golden fields, away from everyone, so these two could enjoy being alone together on their wedding day and stop time for a minute.
